Future Coco Ride

It’s official — a Coco-themed dark ride is coming to Disney California Adventure! After months of speculation and quiet hints, Disney has formally announced the new attraction, and with it, excitement is building fast among fans and Imagineering watchers alike.

Initial site research is already underway, with survey markers, soil testing, and quiet backstage activity signaling the early stages of transformation. While full construction hasn’t begun just yet, this prep work typically precedes a more visible phase of demolition, clearing, and eventual vertical build.

As for what we can expect: the attraction is said to be a richly immersive dark ride experience, bringing guests into the vibrant Land of the Dead with stunning visuals, music from the film, and possible next-gen ride technology. While Disney hasn’t released full blueprints, early reports suggest a high-capacity layout with plenty of space for practical sets, projection mapping, and musical storytelling.
